This design was inspired by the poem "Sublime Douro" by the renowned Portuguese writer Miguel Torga. The painting in this collection evokes the magnificence of the Douro. The vineyards, scaling titanic slopes, capture the marvel of this landscape where nature exceeds what the eye can behold. The human figures and the ox depicted reflect the laborious harmony between man and earth, eternalizing the serenity and silence that the poet immortalized in this poem.

The Sublime Douro

The prodigy of a landscape that ceases to be by dint of becoming immense. It is not a panorama that the eyes contemplate: it is an excess of nature. Terraces that are passed by titanic men climbing the slopes, volumes, nuclei and modulations that no sculptor, painter or musician can translate, horizons expanded beyond the plausible thresholds of vision.A virginal universe, as if it had just been born, and already eternal for its harmony, in its serenity, in the silence that not even the river dares to break, sometimes stealthily disappearing behind the mountains, sometimes amazed deep down reflecting at his own amazement. A geological poem. Absolute beauty.
